About the Artist:
My name is Angela Lafreniere, founder of Charred Treasures. I am a self-taught pyrography and pastel artist whose love for art and nature has shaped my creative journey. Born and raised around the beautiful Peaks of Otter Mountains, surrounded by inspiration.
My professional artistic journey began in 2000 as a tattoo artist, where I worked alongside my late husband, Hal, owner of Accent Tattoo in Gloucester, Virginia. During my eight years as a tattoo artist, I developed a deep appreciation for detail, patience, and meaningful artwork.
After stepping away from art for several years, I rediscovered my creativity in 2020 when I created a gift for my then-boyfriend, Ken. I immediately fell in love with the medium. A few years later, I began working with pastels to bring more color into my artwork.
Today, I enjoy creating both realistic wood-burned pieces and colorful pastel artwork, with much of my work focused on pet portraits and original creations inspired by the world around me.
