Joe Ortiz

I first drew for my 4th grade school newsletter. Growing up I watched my Dad draw amazing things which encouraged me to keep drawing. I first dabbled with oil painting at age thirteen.

In high school I achieved with the encouragement of my art teacher, and received art awards. I then served in the Army, a tour in Germany.

I am mostly self taught, with a few classes at a Jr. College, and tutoring from a portrait artist. I am now retired and spend most of my time doing art.
