About the Artist:
Mark Anthony Micchio is an emerging interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, California. His creative work focuses on reckoning with his own military service in the context of modern military history, with themes involving motivation, memory, and ritual creation and destruction. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science, a Juris Doctorate, and a Master of Law, and recently graduated with Associate degrees in Studio Arts, Animation, and Photography from College of the Canyons. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Contemporary Art History at Azusa-Pacific University, and will begin his Master of Fine Arts degree at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in the Fall of 2026. Mark is an award-winning student and artist. His creative goal is to establish an independent art practice, coordinate workshops designed to provide a healing creative outlet to military veterans and other war trauma victims, and to teach art and art history.
