About the Artist:
Otto Stürcke was raised in Los Angeles and in 1989 joined the Marine Corps. After serving in Desert Storm, he enrolled in art classes which led to an illustration career. Influenced by the Dutch Masters, Otto focused on creating fine art.
“I seek to impart sincerity with my art, often aiming to depict an allegorical narrative through an intriguing balance of light and dark.”
Recognitions include, Master Circle Status with the International Association of Pastel Societies and Master Pastelist Status with the Pastel Society of America. His work is in the American Latino Collective at the Smithsonian Museum and has been part of the Butler Institute of American Art Selection. Awards include, 1st Place in Pastel Journal’s Annual Pastel Competition, Stabilo Award at the 1st International Pastel Rome Exhibition, and the PleinAir Magazine Award by the Pastel Society of the West Coast. He is a published artist, included in the French publication 40 Masters of Pastel by Pratique des Arts Magazine.
